Bjorn Clouten, AIA, Assoc. DBIA

West Region Associate Practice Director

Bjorn Clouten

Bjorn is a sharp-minded leader driven by projects that shape public life. With 25 years’ experience leading civic and education projects, he’s played a critical role in some of the Northwest’s most impactful buildings, including the Oregon State Capitol renovation and the Multnomah County Central Courthouse. His expertise in alternative project delivery (Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery and the Construction Manager/General Contractor and General Contractor/Construction Manager methods) leads to projects that aren’t just executed efficiently but also foster a sense of collaboration where everyone walks away feeling like a winner.

As the Business Practice Leader for our Portland and Seattle offices, Bjorn helps guide our teams through complex decision-making, ensuring our work aligns with client goals and broader opportunities for public engagement and community impact. While his pragmatic approach drives project success, he brings the same adventurous spirit to his personal life. Whether navigating the rapids on a whitewater rafting trip or cycling through the Pacific Northwest, Bjorn thrives on challenge and discovery.
