This podcast is exciting for me. I am seeking insight from leading creatives in a variety of fields about their career journeys, what motivates them and how they convert that energy to action. This is about uncovering different pathways through which design can transform our world.
David Polzin Executive Director of Design
In the inaugural episode, David speaks with Paola Aguirre Serrano, a proud native of the Mexico-U.S. region, urban designer, and partner at Borderless Studio. The two traverse dynamic topics including spatial justice and equitable design, modern urban challenges, Paola’s ties to the Mexico-U.S. border, the power of design to inspire hope and how it can better nourish our cities moving forward.
Paola has been trained as an architect and urban designer, and her professional experience includes working with government, universities, and architecture/urban design offices in both the United States and Mexico. She is the co-founder of City Open Workshop, Design Trust Chicago, and the Borderless Workshop – a research and collaborative platform focused on rethinking cities among the US-Mexico border region.
