We’re excited to have four projects recognized in this year’s Architizer A+Awards, including two by CannonDesign and two by Ennead Architects, who recently joined our firm.

Turf Experience Center (Popular Choice Winner)

This multi-zone showroom and workspace, located in the historic Merchandise Mart, immerses visitors in a range of acoustic environments, from bold and energetic pathways to quieter and more introspective spaces.

It brings Turf’s materials to life while functioning as both an experiential hub and a working studio that blends office, prototyping and display areas to show how acoustic design shapes atmosphere and experience. The design team includes CannonDesign, Eastlake Studio Inc., HED and HDR.

The Delacorte Theater (Popular Choice Winner)

The Delacorte Theater in Central Park, designed by Ennead Architects, is home to The Public Theater’s iconic "Shakespeare in the Park." After 62 years of bringing Shakespeare to New York City, the design to revitalize the 1,872-seat theater brings a previously unseen level of accessibility, resilience and sense of place to this much-loved cultural space.

ByteDance Houhai Center

The pursuit of innovative media is central to ByteDance’s mission of creative exchange. Ennead Architects' design embodies that spirit, drawing on the logic of bits and bytes to shape an undulating façade and an algorithmic tower within a sun-shading eco-frame that supports communication, curiosity and collaboration.

St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Powell Hall (Honorable Mention)

Powell Hall has long stood as one of St. Louis’s most beloved cultural landmarks and the permanent home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The renovation and expansion of Powell Hall sought to honor this legacy while transforming the building to meet the needs of today’s artists, audiences and performances.

Christner Architects (now part of CannonDesign) served as prime architect and architect of record, leading the renovation and expansion of Powell Hall in collaboration with Snøhetta as design architect. Our team directed the historic restoration, reimagined back-of-house spaces for the orchestra and delivered a complex new addition, bringing an ambitious design vision to life while ensuring the hall’s legacy as a world-class performance venue.
