Open Hand Studio celebrates new grant for Jamaa Birth Village

Open Hand Studio of CannonDesign is excited to announce it has helped Jamaa Birth Village secure a grant from the birthFUND, founded by Elaine Welteroth.
The birthFUND is a celebrity-backed midwifery initiative with support from personalities like Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams, Ashley Graham, John Legend and more. The birthFUND advocates and invests in midwifery care and the inclusion of birth workers in the birth experience.
Together, with The Victoria Project, a nonprofit providing resources and funding midwifery and holistic care, the birthFUND was created to expand and fund midwifery practices nationwide. The Victoria Project has also teamed with Birth Center Equity to work directly with birthFUND to pair community birthing centers with families seeking midwifery support. Open Hand Studio was able to connect Jamaa Birth Center to this grant opportunity and we’re excited to share that their first home birth family will be fully funded.
