As part of its new EvolutionLabs laboratory/office developments in Montgomery County, Maryland, Bethesda-based developer Stonebridge teamed with us to design a six-story, 120,000-square-foot speculative lab building in the heart of the I-270 biotechnology corridor. This building is designed for established life science tenants that require 5,000 square feet of space or more.
Our team is designing the building and providing guidance to the developer about the requirements (base building requirements, amenities and other important mechanical considerations) of the life science tenants they are seeking.
Stonebridge is undertaking this project, as well as several other life science developments in the region, in response to Montgomery County’s 2021 economic development action plan, which cited the urgent need for an additional two million square feet of laboratory infrastructure to accommodate the increased demand for space in the life sciences industry.
