Our team is proud to celebrate the grand opening of the University of Pennsylvania's (Penn) Jane and David Ott Center for Track & Field. The university held a commemorative event this past weekend with the venue's first official competition scheduled for the first weekend in December.

It was an honor to design the Ott Center with Penn, a leading-edge facility featuring a banked 200-meter running track designed around specific geometric relationships between the straight and curved track sections to produce optimal conditions for running events. The 73,000 square-foot center also features:

  • Two long jump/triple jump runways
  • Two pole vault runways
  • An eight-lane infield for springs, hurdles and high-jump
  • A throwing area for shot put and weight throw
  • Spectator seating for more than 1,000

Penn believes the new center will help solidify the university and the city of Philadelphia as a major hub for track and field on the East Coast, in the United States and for the world. The center anticipates hosting 40+ indoor competition events during 2025.

Testimonials

  • What does this new facility mean for track and field? The first word I keep telling people is: It's a home...it's the home of Penn track and field, the home of Philadelphia track and field.

Steve Dolan Penn Director of Track and Field and Cross Country

Beyond its core collegiate training and competition purposes, the Ott Center will also be used extensively by Philadelphia's youth track and field teams.
