Fast Company has published an article recognizing the new pediatric hospital we helped Sunflower Network design and deliver in Ukraine as a project that can "reinvent the country's approach to providing healthcare."

Ukraine Childrens Hospital7

Infused with trauma-informed design strategies and supported by a modular design approach that significantly accelerated its construction timeline, the new children's hospital now serves more than 120,000 annual patients.

The project fills a deep need in Ukraine. As the Fast Company piece makes clear, "hundreds of hospitals and healthcare facilities across Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed during the ongoing war with Russia, adding extreme pressure on the health infrastructure that remains."

Testimonials

  • (This hospital) is a new approach to the treatment of children in Ukraine because the doctors are able to be next to the patients to provide them with all the needed help. You feel the warmth inside. It will be for our children and for our future.

Tymus Myroslav Yaroslavovych Director of the Brody Central City Hospital

The first newly opened children's hospital since Russia invaded Ukraine, this pediatric hospital elevates the standard of care to meet World Health Organization and European Union guidelines.

The project is also strategically positioned along the vital Kyiv-to-Europe highway, serving both residents and displaced families from Eastern Ukraine. With a local population of 150,000 and a regional population of five million, Brody has been identified by the Ministry of Health as a key medical hub to address urgent healthcare needs.

Testimonials

  • Many of the children who visit this hospital will be facing PTSD, separation anxiety and/or other trauma. We've created a hospital with 100% private rooms to ensure there is privacy, dignity, secure space for families and opportunities for respite and comfort.
