In the heart of Hyderabad’s Gachibowli district is the Rivea Vascular Institute, the region's first dedicated vascular and interventional radiology center. Inspired by a river’s calming flow, the building is designed to reduce stress and create a hospitality-like environment for both patients and caregivers.
The double-height lobby is the heart of the facility — filled with natural light, open views and curved, river-inspired seating options. The flowing layout continues throughout the waiting areas to create a cohesive experience. Curved ceiling alcoves, diffused lighting and fluid forms reinforce the flow concept that begins in the lobby throughout the building.
In place of consultation rooms, which are common in India, there are standardized exam rooms that physicians move between while the patient stays put. This both improves and streamlines the patient and caregiver journey and reduces time spent in the waiting room. To further support staff wellness, there are dedicated spaces with a mix of workstations, sofas and quiet zones for either collaboration, focused charting or relaxing away from care areas. These staff spaces reduce travel time and keep staff close to patient care.

In line with bringing global healthcare building standards to Rivea, the ICU has all private rooms, which help to lessen infection risks and allow for maximum patient comfort. Each room also has telescopic glass doors for staff visibility and to allow daylight in the room. All other inpatient rooms follow a standardized configuration, designed to offer future flexibility. This enables seamless conversion from semi-private rooms to private rooms, deluxe rooms or suites.
There are two operating rooms and a combined Cath Lab and Hybrid OR with an IGS-7 robotic arm to assist with a wide variety of surgeries — a rare and advanced piece of technology in Indian healthcare facilities.
